PRODUCTIVITY PLACES PROGRAM (PPP)
A Skilling Queenslanders for Work Initiative funded by the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation
Queensland Youth Services Inc. in conjunction with Paraskevi International, a national training organisation, have been approved to deliver a free course in Certificate II in Hairdressing to eligible job seekers of Townsville region.

What is the Productivity Places Program?
The Productivity Places Program (PPP) is part of the joint Australian, State and Territory Governments initiative to provide additional training places for existing workers and job seekers. It's part of the Australian Government's Skilling Australia for the Future policy which in Queensland is being jointly managed by the Department of Education Training and the Arts and the Department of Employment Economic Development and Innovation. A component of the job seeker training places will be administered through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative
About the Training Organisation - Paraskevi International
Paraskevi International is a nationally accredited training organisation that offers training in Hairdressing. Their staff are fully qualified trainers and assessors who continually update their training, thus ensuring the students are provided with the most up to date and relevant training in the industry. Each student can be assured that they will gain an abundance of knowledge and skills from their experienced and supportive training team.
Their courses consist of essential theory, relevant practical activities and rostered salon hours. Their goal is to provide our students with an interactive and fun learning environment with as much hands-on experience in the salon as possible. They are excited to offer you real salon experience, right from the first week!
Am I Eligible?
To be eligible for a PPP funded position applicants must be:
- Over the age of 15
- Unemployed and seeking employment for over three months
- An Australian Citizen or
- A permanent Resident of Australia
- Currently living in Queensland
- Registered with an Employment Services Provider
Two intakes will take place in 2010. One commencing on the 1st February 2010 and the second will commence in June 2010 (Date yet to be decided). An application form and questionnaire must be completed and submitted to Queensland Youth Services Inc.

SECOND INTAKE COMMENCES TUESDAY, 6th APRIL 2010
TIMINGS FOR ACCEPTANCE and COMMENCEMENT ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Friday, 5th March 2010 (Close of Business): Deadline for receipt of Application Form and completed Questionnaire
Monday, 22nd March 2010: Group Interview and information session for all applicants
Friday, 26th March 2010: Notification of outcome of group interviews.
Tuesday, 30th March 2010: Orientation day - 10am to 2pm
Tuesday, 6th April 2010: Commencement of training.
THIRD INTAKE COMMENCES MONDAY, 12th JULY 2010
