About our Jobs

Queensland Youth Services Inc. strives to promote and provide services for young people with a view to improving their quality of life and well being. QYS programs aim to provide opportunities for young people to achieve, realize their individual potential, build self esteem and develop value in themselves and our community. Currently QYS operates the following programs -

Youth Support Coordinator Program

This is an innovative program operating in selected secondary schools throughout Townsville, Ayr, Ingham and Charters Towers. The program focuses on supporting young people at risk of disengaging from learning to successfully transition into and through the Senior Phase of Learning.

Reconnect Program
This early intervention outreach program covers the Townsville and Thuringowa area and the target group is young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, and their families.

Young Parents Programs (YPP)

YPP incorporating Munchkins Playgroup and PPOSSIBLEE Program, assists young parents (who are under 25 years of age), partners and children through various projects and outreach services. The program also provides assistance to young people expecting a child, and those whose children are in foster care.

Get Set For Work (GS4W)

This program targets disengaged youth aged 15-17 years old. The aim of the program is to provide participants with a set of skills that will enable engagement in further education and training, or employment opportunities in the local region. This program currently operates in the Townsville and Hinchinbrook region.

This program offers an opportunity to young learner drivers with the assistance of volunteer mentors to gain their 100 hours of on-road driving experience.
